Araya Kay Jewelry

This Sunday just passed, I had the honor of doing makeup for the owner and creator of a new jewelry line, and her model. Araya Kay is the name of the online jewelry shop and her brand. The jewelry pieces are gorgeous; there is something there for everyone and their different tastes. It ranges from gorgeous statement pieces to cute, girly pieces! The website is hoping to be up and running, awaiting floods of orders by the first week of November (trust me, the pieces are irresistible!!). The website is www.arayakay.com so keep tuned for a more detailed post about the site itself!!

The makeup of this day had two different looks! For the owner of the brand, Amanda I had to keep her makeup fairly natural but enough to make her stand out; however she didn't much at all! Amanda had beautiful, flawless skin and putting makeup on her was so satisfying and easy! For the hair, Amanda wanted loose waves that added body to her hair.

For the gorgeous model of the shoot, Vanessa, we decided to go for a slightly natural but smokey makeup. The main focus was the eyes whereby I created a brown neutral smokey eye, and gave her a nude lip. The idea for the hair was big, messy, voluptuous bed hair. When I receive some photos from the shoot itself, you will see why we decided to go with the smokey eye....

Stay tuned to see pictures from the shoot, and for the grand opening of ArayKay!!
Have a great day!

A fancy wedding....

On the weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of doing makeup for two beautiful women attending a rather fancy wedding! They wanted to make sure that they looked gorgeous because the wedding was a  bit of a social gathering with many Thai celebrities and well known persons. They were already naturally beautiful, with absolutely flawless skin so my work was very easy to do!

Both of the ladies were wearing a pale, pastel pink dress and wanted makeup that would be complimentary to their outfits; both asked for smoldering & seductive eyes with a pink/nude lip! The first of my clients had gold flecks and embellishments in her dress so I incorporated those gold hints with giving her a golden, smokey eye. After discussing what she would like for her makeup, we came to an agreement that her dress was very statement itself, and over-doing it with too much makeup, may be to harsh for the eye. Our final result was perfect for her look and she looked beautiful!

Here is a before and after shot;

The second of the gorgeous ladies knew exactly what she wanted, a deep smokey eye and I totally agreed with her decision! I took the dusky, pastel pink from her dress and placed that colour directly onto the center of her eye lids and smokey out the rest with a cool, dark brown and placed black in the outer 'V'. Her dress was very simple yet sexy and elegant, so giving her a smokey eye would enhance those vibes.

I even managed to grab a few pics of them in their gorgeous outfits, just before they rushed off out the door to attend the glamorous wedding that I so wanted to go to!

Hair was also done by myself! I hope you have enjoyed reading this short blog, just wanted to share some of the glam of the wedding with you (even if I didn't attend it myself!). In the next month or so I will have new and exciting blog posts to show you, so keep posted for hauls, reviews and everything in between!

Have a great day my beauties!

Victoria Secrets Show 2013 ❤

If anyone knows me, they will know that I am completely obsessed with the Victoria Secrets Runway shows. I cannot count the times I have sat watching these shows, back to back on Youtube, right from the very first Catwalk in 1995! I am not only obsessed with the underwear/swimsuits that they show, but also the ridiculously toned bodies of these women! I am also fixated with their look; that gorgeous bouncy, angelic curly hair and the glowing-goddess kind of makeup! Eugh. JUST PERFECTION!!!!

It's been announced that the 2013 show will be on the 10th December, on CBS (an american channel). By then I shall be back in the UK, and that night i'll be frantically searching to live stream it! The model line up is all of the gorgeous supermodels from last years shows such as the beautiful Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lilly Aldridge, Lindsay Ellingson, Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes and Bahiti Prinsloo. Unfortunately, Mirander Kerr hung up her Angel wings earlier this year, wanting to take a more focused role on being a mother; therefore who will be taking her place? Could it be the beautiful and unique-looking Cara Delvinge or the super leggy, Jourdan Dunn?

Now, IF I had to choose who was my favourite Angel it would most definitely be Candice Swanepoel. If I wrote a list why, we would be here forever.

Here is a few sneak peeks at some of the this years outfits!! In love already and FAR too excited! I'm like a child on Christmas Eve!!!

Victoria Secret Angel Makeup

The signature look of the Angels is always bronzed, super dewy, a beautiful glowing complexion and a subtle sexy, smokey eye and pink/nude lip. Each of these beautiful models carries this gorgeous look so well! Highlighting and contouring is done to perfection, and the smoldering eye cries sex appeal! The hair is loosely waved or curled to create the angel like curls. OH, HOW I WANT TO BE AN ANGEL!!!!! <3

Think I'm feeling inspired to do a Victoria Secrets Angel makeup look- we can all pretend to be an Angel, right?!

Haunted Doll Makeup

So I'm back with another look you can recreate for Halloween!! When deciding what I wanted to do, I thought about what creeped me out and gave me nightmares as a child (and still do!) To be honest, I am pretty much scared of anything, I cannot for the life of me watch any thriller let alone some serious horror movie! But I have always had a fear of china dolls. I used to stay over my best friends house most weekends and she had these china dolls that used to stand on the tops of her wardrobe, looking down on us whilst we slept! I always had a creepy feeling those dolls eyes would follow us, and I was suspicious they came alive! So therefore, I decided that I would recreate a dolls face, not necessarily a china doll....but a doll with a free moving mouth (a bit like the movie, Chuckie!).

Again, this look is super easy to recreate, with cheap facepaints, or even with makeup! It is very effective and when an outfit is added to this look, it would be amazing! I'm thinking, a matted wig, ragged and torn clothes... you know the flow! Just think of old dolls, creepy, dirty and with that 'vacant- but im watching you' kind of look in there eye!

Basic instructions of how to do;

1) As you can see I have extended the white of the eye on to my cheek and applied eyelashes where the eye would finish! This gives the illusion of large, rounded and protruding eyes, just like a doll! You can choose to use larger eyelashes if you wish for a more dramatic effect. I also made my eyebrows appear as though they were big and bushy.
2) Next step was creating the rounded cheeks. Here, I smiled and drew with brown eye-shadow where the apples of my cheeks sat, then I blended the shadow so it didn't look so prominent. Next, I added a rosy red blush directly to the apples of the cheeks and added freckles with liquid liner.
3) Now the most fun, and best part of this look is creating the free-moving mouth! Firstly, draw a black line from the corner of your mouth towards the bottom of your chin. Do this both sides. Next, draw half way across your chin with the same black pencil or paint to show where the teeth start. Apply red/pink lipstick/paint to your top lip. Also taking that same colour add it to the bottom of your chin. Be sure to leave enough room for you to draw the teeth in! Then take white paint/ or white eyeshadow with mixing liquid and fill in the area for your teeth. Use black liquid liner or paint to create the teeth! Remember to do large sized teeth for that ventriloquist effect. Lastly, fill in that middle section as black as you can make to create the open mouth stance. This next step is optional however if you really want to make the mouth pop, apply a light shade of concealer alongside the mouth.

And whalaaaa! Your Halloween doll face is ready to go!

Thankyou and have a great day <3

Pop art for Halloween

So the beginning of October has come upon us, and what else to look forward to other than cosy nights in, hot chocolates galore and lots of super cute and comfy jumpers. However, at the end of the month we have HALLOWEEN! It has only been recently that I have been allowed to celebrate it (parents forbid me, deprived of a lifetime of sweets!) and so I decided to kick start this month with a few makeup looks that are super easy to create and are so much fun and also very effective!

Halloween doesn't always have to be scary, ugly, slutty or damn right terrifying! Instead you can have fun with Halloween. This easy to recreate look is so much fun to wear and looks incredible in photos! It can also be modified to however you wish it to look! Pop art makeup is very cartoon-like. Focus on bright colours, black to highlight or to distinguish features, and to make it look emotive! You can choose to be sad, shocked, in love etc!

If you wish to see a pictorial of this look, or a video please let me know, I will be happy to help where ever I can! Or if you have any other types of Halloween makeup looks you wish for me to try out and create a pictorial/video then please just comment below and I will do what I can!
I hope those of you who try this look have as much fun as I did!

Thankyou, and have a great day!

Autumn/ Winter 2013, Louis Vuitton inspired makeup for fabrics shoot

Looking through photos of the New York & London fashion weeks, I was completely inspired for my shoot! I had so much choice to focus my makeup ideas upon, I loved SO many looks. However, for this shoot I decided to go with a look taken from Louis Vuitton's catwalk; it consisted of a warm brown eye shadow, set in the crease of the eye to create a depth look, with a 'red-wine' stained lip. There was also a great deal of emphasis upon the eyebrow.

The shoot was for different brands, and the photos would be used throughout the world for their look books. The absolutely gorgeous rolls of fabrics were from designers such as Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci and so forth, and on set the stylists would create dresses right there and then; just pinning them into shape (it was AMAZING!!). Being a huge lover of fashion and fashion designs, I was in my element! Here are just a few sneaky snaps that I took myself whilst on set; there isn't too many as I'm awaiting professional photos!

How gorgeous is the red & Silver sequined dress, gorgeous! Totally in love!!

And here is my makeup on one of the models, unfortunately the other model was super sick on the day of the shoot and I didn't want to pester her!

Products I used for the shoot are pictured here;

No7 Beautifully matte makeup base (hypo-allergenic)
MAC studio fix fluid- NW20
Makeup Store Loose Powder- Milk
Makeup Store bronzing powder- sun touched
Makeup Store Blush- Cherry Blossom
Makeup Store- Cover all mix

NYX- 112 colour box of eyeshadows
Original naked palette
Makeup Store Microshadow- Smog
No17 eyebrow palette
Revlon Eyeliner Pencil- 01 Black
Maybelline Falsies Mascara- Black
Catrice Cosmetics- clear eyebrow gel

To make the gorgeous 'red-wine' stained lip, I mixed 3 colours taken from this KMA Cosmetics lip palette.
I took the the deepest brown, the brightest red and a little of purple and blended them together, then I added black gel liner to create a more burgundy hue.

I will update with professional pictures as soon as I get sent them! Looking at doing a few Halloween inspired makeup looks these next coming weeks so let me know if you have any suggestions. I will try to do pictorials for you guys :)

Hope you have enjoyed reading my post, please subscribe and share! Have a wonderful day!

Enchanted...

“I hope she'll be a fool -- that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.” ― F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby

The quote above was taken from the fantastic film, "The Great Gatsby". From the glitz and glamour of the gorgeous little dresses, to the deep heart-ache among these iconic woman.
          On today's shoot, I was continuing my journey of assistance, and I was really fortunate to be working alongside the VERY talented, Hilde once again. She contacted me and asked if I would like to assist her at her shoot, and of course, I was excited to! Not only did I have the honor to work alongside Hilde once more, but I was also working alongside one of the top five photographers in the world!! Manuel Libres Librodo is an incredible photographer who uses only natural lighting, his work is astonishing and his page has had over 26 million views! You can visit his work at; http://www.pbase.com/manny_librodo.

The "Great Gatsby" was first written and set in 1925. The overall look of this era resembled the 'flapper girl'. The girls skin was very fair (no one had a tan!), eyes were smokey and made to look deep set; the eyebrows also curved around the socket and finished on the temples of the face. (otherwise known as sad eyebrows!) Lips were made to look full and in particular, heart-shaped!

Our location of the shoot today was set in an old antique storehouse in Bangkok, Lad Phrao, soi 55/2; Papaya. Even the location itself was enchanting and mesmerizing! I have never seen so many beautiful, quirky, unique and old items under one roof! Here is a few sneaky pictures of the location;

Finally, here are some photo's that I took on set whilst they were shooting :) I really hope you have enjoyed my post; if you have any questions please comment me. Also feel free to follow/share/ like <3 Spread the love!
